KIBS Celebrates Graduation of Two Cohorts from the Kuwait Graduate Development Program in collaboration with Boubyan Bank and the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program

The Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies (KIBS) celebrated the graduation of two cohorts from the Kuwaiti Graduate Development Program (KGDP). This program, held in collaboration with the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program, and in partnership with Bank of Boubyan, took place from November 2016 to April 2017. The graduation ceremony was held on April 25, 2017, at Symphony Style Hotel.

The event was attended by Prof. Yaqoub Al-Refaei, Director General of KIBS; Mr. Fawzi Al-Majdali, General Secretary and Ms. Iman Al-Ansari, Director of National Workforce Development in the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program, and Mr. Adel Al-Hammad, General Manager of Human Resources at Bank of Boubyan, along with several other officials involved in the program’s execution.

The ceremony began with a documentary showcasing the key activities and achievements of the program. Following the screening, program officials delivered speeches encouraging the participants to fully leverage the opportunities provided by the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program. They praised the role of the private sector in attracting and investing in Kuwaiti talent, training them, and subsequently employing them. Special recognition was given to Bank of Boubyan for its support in nurturing and employing these talented graduates.

In his speech, Prof. Al-Refaei emphasized that this program was the fourth in a series of successful initiatives by KIBS in collaboration with the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program aimed at empowering young Kuwaiti graduates. He noted that 46 graduates from this program had already secured employment with Bank of Boubyan. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Mohammed Youssef Al-Hashel, Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait and Chairman of the KIBS Board of Directors, for their ongoing support and cooperation. He also extended thanks to Bank of Boubyan for its active involvement in training and hiring the graduates.

Mr. Fawzi Al-Majdali, General Secretary of the Workforce Restructuring Program, congratulated the graduates on passing the first step of their professional journey. He highlighted the crucial role the private sector plays in a nation’s prosperity and encouraged the graduates to embrace both the challenges and opportunities ahead. He concluded by wishing them continued success as they embark on their new careers.

Mr. Adel Al-Hamad, Group Director of Human Resources at Bank of Boubyan, thanked the graduates for their trust in the bank. He discussed Bank of Boubyan’s approach to attracting and hiring talented Kuwaiti youth, making it one of the leading banks in the Kuwaiti market. Mr. Al-Hamad emphasized that the bank offers a unique work environment that fosters creativity and contributes to the development of its operations. He proudly mentioned that Bank of Boubyan had achieved the highest percentage of Kuwaitization in the private sector for the second consecutive year, reflecting its commitment to investing in national talent.

The ceremony concluded with Prof. Al-Refaei, Mr. Al-Majdali, Mr. Al-Hamad, and Ms. Al-Ansari distributing certificates to the graduates. They also honored the employees and officials who contributed to the successful management and execution of the program.
