Prof. Yaqoub Al Refaei, Director General of the Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies (KIBS), announced KIBS’ collaboration with the European Management Centre (MCE) to offer a specialized business management training program, the Mini MBA, for the financial and banking sector. This program, held for the fifth group, took place from September 25 to 29, 2017, in London.
The program was attended by a distinguished group of employees from local Kuwaiti banks, including Kuwait Finance House, Bank of Boubyan, Gulf Bank, Commercial Bank of Kuwait, and Industrial Bank of Kuwait. Participants actively engaged with each other, exchanging experiences, information, and case studies, which enriched the training and benefited everyone involved.
Al Refaei highlighted that this training program has been held annually since its launch in the 2014/2015 academic year. Due to the high demand and its notable success, KIBS has continued to offer the program each year, allowing more clients to benefit and ensuring that the advantages of the program reach a wider audience.
Al Refaei added that the main goal of the training is to support participants in implementing strategies and developing industry-specific concepts. The program also focuses on understanding how key tasks within their organizations work together to achieve these strategies. It helps participants enhance their capabilities in understanding modern management topics such as risk management, financial and accounting management, marketing, and other essential subjects. Al Refaei emphasized that organizing such programs has a clear impact on improving the performance and productivity of employees, which, in turn, benefits their organizations. The program was managed and organized by KIBS, in collaboration with MCE.
It is worth noting that MCE helps managers and management teams build and develop the skills required to implement their organizations’ strategies while continuously improving their performance. The European Management Centre (MCE), based in Brussels, is the largest provider of talent and capability development programs for global companies across Europe, Russia, and the Middle East. MCE is affiliated with the American Management Association (AMA), a global organization founded in 1921.
