The program was held from November 11, 2019 to March 18, 2021, with an interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is one of the key programs under the “Kafa’a” (Competency) Initiative, launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with Kuwaiti banks and managed by KIBS. The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions and develop effective strategies for risk management in banks and financial institutions.
The program was conducted in three non-consecutive phases. The first and second phases took place in Kuwait and included training sessions and practical lectures on risk management, in collaboration with the London Institute of Banking and Finance (UK) and the Global Association of Risk Professionals (USA). The third phase featured field training in the United Kingdom with a global firm specialized in risk management, as well as interactive virtual training with a professional expert for all 15 participants in the program.
