Prof. Yaqoub Al-Refaei, Director General of Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies (KIBS), announced that KIBS is offering the Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) program. This is a professional certificate issued by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) — a globally respected UK-based professional body that specializes in qualification programs and examinations for individuals working in the fields of securities and investment.
This program is designed to prepare participants for the IFQ professional certification exam, which focuses on Islamic banking and finance. The qualification is accredited by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) in Kuwait and is included within the framework of professional qualifications required for registration in roles within companies operating in accordance with Islamic Shari’ah principles.
The program serves as an introductory gateway, providing learners with a fundamental understanding of the Islamic banking and finance sector. It offers a solid foundation for those wishing to explore the essential concepts and structures typically used by Islamic banks and financial institutions, thereby enhancing their understanding of Islamic banking practices and financial instruments.
In this context, Al-Refaei emphasized KIBS’ commitment to offering internationally accredited professional certifications. The IFQ is officially recognized by CISI, a globally accredited regulatory body for professional qualifications in investment and securities and is also acknowledged by the Capital Markets Authority of Kuwait as one of the technical qualifications required for specific registered roles in Shari’ah-compliant companies.
Al-Refaei concluded his statement by reaffirming KIBS’ dedication to staying aligned with evolving training needs and supporting financial institutions in meeting the latest regulatory requirements. This is achieved through the provision of tailored training programs and professional certifications. He also stressed KIBS’ readiness to respond to inquiries and assist in overcoming any challenges that organizations may face.
